The Music Production sessions are weekly and will commence on Tuesday, 21st, October 2025 for 9 weeks.

In this hands-on workshop designed for young adults, you'll discover how to express yourself through beats, melodies, and soundscapes. No experience needed, bring your curiosity! You'll build your own short track using loops and audio effects, explore innovative production techniques that deliver quick results the fundamentals of DJing in a supportive, sensory-friendly environment. Perfect for beginners who want to explore electronic music production at their own pace. While mastery takes years, you'll walk away with your first short track and the skills to keep creating!

Discovering Music & DJing

Introductions with favorite artist or band, exploring different music genres, and learning beat counting.

Cueing & Rhythm

Using the cue button and practicing starting songs on beat.

Jogwheel & Track Selection

Understanding the jogwheel and choosing two songs to blend together.

Mixing Basics

Blending tracks using high, mid, and low EQ and practicing mixing chosen songs.

Introduction to Music Production

Exploring what music production is, overview of Ableton Live, and importing a sample pack.

Building with the Timeline

Learning Ableton’s timeline and arranging samples.

Creating a Short Track

Continuing work on the arrangement and building a one-minute song.

Adding Effects

Applying effects such as delay and reverb to enhance the track.

Showcase & Reflection

Sharing finished tracks with the class and discussing future artistic goals.

My name is Geordie Attard

Geordie Attard is an electronic music artist and educator who graduated from Catalyst Berlin. As the founder and lead Ableton tutor at the Malta School of Sound.

His teaching philosophy: every skill learned today will serve a future purpose, and growth happens outside comfort zones. This approach drives his curriculum, where students experiment with unfamiliar genres and unconventional methods. By pushing creative boundaries, Attard develops versatile producers ready for the evolving electronic music landscape. His international education and hands-on expertise create an environment where risk-taking leads to artistic breakthroughs.
